Directed Drawing Book Review Steps:

(Watch the video for a detailed explanation of how to complete the directed drawing.)

  • Make a V in the middle of the paper for the top of the book.
  • Move over about half an inch from the vertex on each side to create the spine of the book.
  • Now make curves from the vertex out to the sides of the page to create the pages of the book.
  • Create a large half circle peeking out from the book to create the head of the reader.
  • Now draw hair, eyes, nose, and a mouth.
  • Draw the four fingers of each hand holding the book. (The thumbs are on the inside of the book when you hold a book so they are hidden).
  • Write the Title and Author on the cover of the book.
  • Write the Title on the Spine
  • Write your review on the back of the book.
  • Trace EVERYTHING (words included) with a Sharpie.
  • Erase any stray pencil marks.
  • Paint with watercolor.
  • Display your Review!
